My Journal

April & May 2007

The Promise of God
I continue to enjoy the kindness of God in every provision as He promised in Isaiah 46: 3-5. Not only my medication was taken cared of, God also took care of my hair cut, and fare for my MRT link card. At the end of each day, I am amazed at every tiny detail of provision by His faithfulness. Praise the Lord. I can say that I am receiving my monthly pension from the Big Boss above! Praise the Lord!

Victory Family Centre
By this June, I am already one year with my new found church in Victory Family Centre. Our church motto for this whole year is Becoming a Family. Our Sr. Pastor Rick Seaward challenged us to focus on unity among the body of Christ as members of His church, and a deeper relationship within the related family members in every home.

Above all, to practice the Five LANGUAGES OF LOVE which is

Gifts (Thoughtful Presents);
Quality Time;
Touch Closeness Warmth;
Acts of Service Kind Action and
Words of Affirmation Loving Words.

I am so blessed to be reminded of all this, and to be among brothers and sisters who are obeying and practicing as One Family for the extension of His Kingdom.

Prayer Group
God has so wonderfully arranged for me to be involved in the prayer ministry among a group of intercessors. This is indeed a confirmation for my silent ministry in the area of prayer.

This intercessors prayer group meets every Saturday morning at 7am, and church prayer meeting is on every Tuesday evening at 7.15pm to 9.00pm

For every cell group in the church, we are encouraged to go for outreach and evangelism to our neighbors.

I am already in one evangelism group which meets on every Friday evening. I am with Sister Polly (she is a nurse) and we are doing door to door at Bedok area where I live. For a start, we met with a number of obstacles but as we persevere and press on, we are beginning to see result. Praise God.

I am also being approached to help out in the Chinese (Hokkien) service which meets on every Saturday at 2pm. There is a need for volunteers to help out in the visitation to the elderly folks who are dialect speaking. Please pray with me on this as I wait upon the Lord and to get His approval.

My hobby: Planting my small garden
I have started some planting outside the house front corridor. It started with a few under wanted plants given by a friend, and then the interest gets into me. I thought I dont have greenery hands, but surprisingly all the plants are growing and some of them have flowers blooming! I have also started on some spring onion, pandan leaves, which give very nice flavors as an ingredient for making jelly, or green beans. Oh yes I use them for cooking curry as well. I have another plant whose leaves are believed to be good for diabetics. You can either chew on it or cook with soup. My mother usually plucks a few in the morning, and just chew on it.

Cross-stitch
I picked up my cross-stitch once again. The picture of the Last Supper have been delayed since 2000 oh dear a gap of 7 years! Hopefully I can finish it by end of this year!

Health
Praise God I am so much better now. Although I am still under medication and have three more medical tests in June and July. I sincerely covet your prayer support, thanks.

I thank God for each of you. You have contributed much to my needs in many ways, your encouragement, concern, prayer and above all sharing your love in the Lord for me.

The Lord bless you as ever and may you also experience the faithfulness of the Lord in your life.

Prayer request
For my elderly mother who is 84 yrs old. She sews hand towels and floor rags for whoever makes the order at a very reasonable price. This is her hobby and it keeps her healthy and joyful!

God willing, I hope to get a part-time job. If any of you know of any opening, I would appreciate you introduce it to me, ok? Thanks.
For faithfulness and good stewardship in my walk with the Lord. May I remain as Gods faithful servant even as I am on my own.

God bless.
His humble servant
