Silently I wait
As I continued my journey with God, I found myself strolling along the path of Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I Am God. In every situation the Lord led me into the serenity of prayer with calmness and stillness in the spirit. I have learned in whatever have had happened, to let go and let God. It is so wonderful to be still in His presence.

My Elderly Mother.and my new role.
Somewhere in July, my mother was hospitalized for a chronic heart failure. She is no longer able to do any handiwork with the sewing machine, and this has limited her mobility in movement. I started taking care of her fulltime as her honored maid. My mother has really aged much and could not walk steadily. I discovered it takes lots of patience and understanding to care for an elderly folk.

Recently on 29th Sept early morning 2a.m., she had a fall and with a high fever. Immediately I had to call the ambulance and admitted her again at Changi Hospital. My mother has hospital phobia and refused to be admitted. Doctor found out she has heart failure again and very critical lungs infection.

She is aware that her time to go back to glory is due soon, and has made me promised her not to let her go from the hospital. She also wished to see my nephew Samuel (serving as missionary with OMF in Thailand), and my second brother David (in Cambodia).

On the third day Monday Oct 1st, she suddenly went into coma and a severe stroke of 80% to the heart and lungs, and two-third of her right brain. Doctors told me to be prepared for her last days at any time because she might just leave us in her coma.
With urgency the family made calls to Samuel and David to return. She was in coma for 3 days.

Miracles and glorious testimony.

My nephew Samuel and his fianc Kul managed to rush back on Wednesday Oct 3rd noon, and my brother David on Thurs 4th late evening. Amazingly she opened both her eyes upon hearing their voices and calling her. Since that day, my mother came out of her coma and opened her eyes, looking at every one of her family members, recognizing each of us. PRAISE GOD!!

On Friday 5th, as a family, we decided to transfer her to A class in order to have some privacy with her, also to let her have some peaceful sleep and calmness. Amazingly she slept soundly and her fever was stabilized.
To date, as I write this sharing, she is no longer on oxygen, no needle on her hands and fever is gone! Praise God.
Family worship & unity practically every evening we have family worship and fellowship in her room. We sang Hokkien songs to her, let her listened to messages, and all her grand children massaged, talked, and even joked with her.
My mother still cannot speak but we know from her gesticulation, she understands.

Saturday Oct 6th My mother blessed every one of her children (ten of us), and all her grandchildren, and one great-grandchild due in November. It was like old Jacob in the OT. It was a beautiful scene that will last forever with us! Praise God and all glory to Him!

Latest update Doctor has given approval for her to be discharged. She will be home by tomorrow Oct 10th. Praise God!
She will still be on tube-feeding but praise God she is more alert than before. I will be getting a maid to assist me, and my 3rd sister Alice who has experience with nursing home taking care of elderly folks; will apply leave to help me.
May the will of the Lord be done accordingly in my mother, and that she will also willing to let go and let God.

All the staff, nurses and doctors witnessed such family support to a patient, and they recognized the love of God in us as a Christian family. All glory to God!

I thank each of you for your prayer support and many encouraging sms and emails to me. I am deeply touched and grateful.
May you also experience what the Lord can do in your own life.

The Lord be glorified and honored!

Your humble servant in the Lord,
Nancy Lim
