My Journal

January 2009

Ushering in 2009 (January)

Sick in bed

I spent my last two weeks of December 2008, and first few days of January 2009 in bed. I was down with high fever, a bad flu and an infectious sore throat. It was really very disappointing to spend Christmas; and to begin the New Year both in bed respectively. At such time, the person I missed most is my late dear mother. But I often encourage myself to look positively with the vision of God in view she has completed her task, but God is not finished with me yet. I have my responsibility on earth to fulfill.

Hence I ask the Lord to revitalize me with physical health and enable me to accomplish my commitment in Him.

Church Commitment

I took me two years before I finally agreed to take up the Net leadership ministry. Presently I am already helping out in the Hokkien service among the elderly folks, and coffee corner (which serves light refreshment on Sunday morning).

God has provided me a very good lady pastor and mentor in Sister Caroline. Through her spiritual insight, and wise leadership, the Lord renewed my confidence and commitment to take up some leadership ministry in church.
The Lord also provided me a very good co-worker in Sister Polly who helps me to adjust in Victory Family Centre since day one when I first stepped in. She is now my buddy and prayer partner! I thank God for both of them their influence in my life.

Praise God for His faithfulness and patience with me. May I be found faithful in my commitment to God and to the church leadership.

The Promise of the Lord always the Same, Yesterday, Today & Forever ..

Many of my concerned friends have often asked me, How are you been supported? Are you working? etc. Very often I am lost for an answer to their questions. It is a very personal covenant that God has with me in my journey with Him. However, I can testify boldly that you need not to understand the why, what or how in His personal plan for you, you need only to Obey and Trust.

Remember I shared about my journey in March-April 07 issue? The challenge from the Lord in His promise to me in Isaiah 46:3-5: The Lord said to me I AM HE, WHO WILL CARRY YOU; I AM HE WHO WILL SUBSTAIN YOU ..EVEN TO YOUR OLD AGE, AND GREY HAIR .

Since then, every time I tried on a fulltime job, something sure to happen. But above all, most amazing is the way the Lord provided for all my needs, be it physical, social, or medication and households.

My faithful Lord keeps His promise, and I am humble to admit Though I don t understand it all, I don t deserve it at all, but I cannot run away from Him . I just Obey and Trust.

It will be a very long list to testify on how the Lord takes care of me and my brother Jimmy. However, we are thankful to God that the Housing Board has finally approved for my brother s flat to be rented out. In this way, it helps us a lot financially. Praise the Lord.

I have also found a two days job in KUMON. Praise the Lord this time the centre is just near my block. I help there twice a week for 3 hrs each day. I count this as my own pocket money.

What Silent ministry has taught me and the person I am changing into ?

An Attentive Ear I learn more on how to listen, and on what I should be listening, and with a clear mind James 1:19 Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.
An Approachable Attitude With no bias concept or any pre-perspective of the other person. Thus allowing a person to open up to you with ease.
An Appreciative Heart Life can be unpredictable, and what a person faces may not be as the same you have gone through or overcame. Having a grateful heart because we are all equal and under the same grace and mercy of the Lord Romans 3:24 We are all justified freely by His grace through the redemption.
All Glory due to the Good & Faithful Lord Without the Lord, I can do nothing Philippians 3: 12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect; but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. AMEN.

Silent ministry has enabled me to become an effective and always available intercessor. Many a times, I am amazed at the powerful force of prayer, and at the awesome wonders in the impossibilities, and I can only humble myself at the feet of my Lord Lord, Praise be Your Name! At the same time, the Lord keeps me always on my knees before Him. Praise the Lord!!

You are always welcome to give me a call or sms or email me for any prayer requests, or urgent need. I am committed to pray for you, and all confidentiality is secured with me and my Lord.

Let us press on with our eyes fixed on Jesus as the Author and Finisher of our faith. Let us encourage each other to run the race with hope and confidence.

The Lord bless you with greater vision and energy to serve Him faithfully to the end.

Yours humbly in His vineyard ..
