God s Divine Plan ..
The month of July was filled with medical check-up and tests. It was then finally confirmed that I need a spine operation. The MRI and scan revealed that I need to have six screws implants for the spinal joints which have worn out. During this time, I sought the Lord for healing and if possible to avoid the operation. God, however, has His plan with regard to the operation.
..His Authority in His word John 13:7 You do not realize what I am doing, but later you will understand.
Job 28:23 God understands the way to it, and He alone knows where it dwells. In Chinese the way is road of wisdom, or wisdom road 智慧的道路. Daily in my quiet time, the Lord assured me of His plan for this operation to go through.
God s Divine Purpose .
John 11:41- Jesus looked up and prayed Father, I thank you that you have heard me. This was the promised word God assured me in the early morning at 6a.m. before I set off for the operation. Immediately I sms all my church intercessors Just praise God, He already heard our prayers!
The date was set on 4th August for my spine operation. It was a major operation and it took six hours. The cut was one ruler long! Doctor told me the screws have to stay with me for life!
His Arrangement the doctor who operated on me is one of the top ten professional in spine surgery Dr. Benedict Peng. He was supposed to be due for a break but by divine arrangement, his holiday was postponed a week later after the 4th, and miraculously I was put under his care! Amazing!
The operation was very successful! God indeed was in the operation theatre.
– After the operation, I was put in Highly Dependency ward for 2 days, and was on high morphine and oxygen, and I could hardly move. Any slight movement brought about great pain but I slept throughout most of the time.
– On the 3rd day I was warded at Ward B for 6 persons. By this time I was aware of my surroundings and the severe pain on my back. The pain was very excruciating and I had to press the morphine every 5 mins especially when the nurses had to turn me or to sponge me!
– By the 4th day, I was able to walk with the support of two physiotherapy staff, and I had my first proper shower! My hair had been perfumed with an unbearable odor for the last four days! Plus the removal of all the six tubes connected to my body. Praise the Lord!
– By the 5th day, I had the opportunity to share my faith with the other five patients, and the nurses. They were very amazed that I was up and alert because I had the most major operation. That gave me the opportunity to testify about JESUS whom I trusted in the operation.
–
I sang two Chinese songs to them? Jesus knows my heart , and His blood has made me whole and clean. These two songs were my late mother s favourite songs
– On August 9th Sunday, before I was due to be discharged at 1.00pm, all the five patients asked me to pray for them. You can imagine my joy and excitement! I went around praying for each of them and encouraged them to believe in Jesus. Praise God for His love and testimony!
God s Divine Power
The day that I was discharged and to recuperate at home for the next three months (up to date as I pen down this journal), I am now counting the many miraculous blessings and provision that God had planned and willed in every step prior to my operation, my medical check up, during and after my operation I can only echo HE IS AWESOME!
Medical Insurance provided by my former church for all the hospital bills.
A maid to wait on me During the whole month of August, I was very privilege to have a number of different volunteers who came to help me in the housework, the laundry, and marketing. God is indeed very generous. I am very thankful for all this kindness shown to me. It was like having a maid to wait on me! It was a bonus for me .
A special companion Sister Victoria from my church. By God s divine arrangement, Victoria was able to assist me in all the mornings. She became my prayer partner, and supported me in my medical checkup, and took care of my all meals. What more can I ask? (P/S: Victoria led two of the helpers to Christ!)
God s provision apart from the above, the Lord took care of my financial expenses and I had no lack.
Up to date, I am still recuperating and very limited in my movement. But I am improving day by day, though I have to use a walking stick to balance myself. In one of my devotion from Stream in the Desert , I came across this phrase: Use your cross as a crutch to help you on, not as a stumbling block to cast you down.
This alert me to my walking stick I was very uncomfortable in using it, but realized that I must not let it cast me down, and belittled myself.
Now I am able to use it with ease and felt at peace with myself.
Well, praise God for this operation that had has taught me many precious lessons, and brought wonderful changes in my life.
I can only echo HE IS AWESOME!
Always yours in His vineyard,
Sister Nancy
